Hey everyone! The song of the day is pure greatest. I have to admit that you have to truley understand music to see the greatness of this song because its honestly pure genius. I'm working on playing it on the piano and its challenging, there are lots of key changes, and just the fact that it dosen't follow the usual format of verses chorus verses chorus is pretty cool. You can say i'm a freddy mercury fan. His songs just kind of touch me. But back to a diffrent subject i'm going to discuss my trip again...
The third day we stayed in New York, woke up fairly early to go to the Empire State Building. We did this portion of our trip without our guide which was pretty impressive. We got on the metros ourselves and managed to find everything. When we entered the empire state building we went through security and payed that outrageous price to go to the top. Only me, my brother, and my grandpa went because it was price. We wated in a huge line then went up to the 80th floor to find a bigger line waiting. After about an hour we got into an elevator and got taken to the very top and wow! It was amazing looking down on the city from above. A person just feels so free looking up there. Not to meantion its the spot where chuck proposed to blair!!! I was so excited to be up there. It was really cool. Heres some pics...
We also went to the Statue of Liberty on Day two which was also a site to see. I went there my last trip to New York but it was still cool. Pictures from that..
The last site we went to see on that day was chinatown. I was on a mission for a designer purse. My dream purse was a tiny Louis Vuitton purse. I adore designer bags and I don't have one. I was on the way to find my first, for a discount ofcourse. We walked down chinatown and so many people walked up to me asking. you want a bag? designer bags anyone? They were all black and of jamaican. All of these guys carry
around huge suitcases filled with designer purse straight from china and some possibly stolen. I was so picky, I looked through so many. Eventually I found a coach bad that suited me and managed to get the guy to take the prince down from 70 to 30. Can you say talent? I also bought a touristy purse that said New york on it and had all the places that I went on it as well. The funny thing about the chinatown sales people is when they see the NYPD they all pack up and run. Its so funny. I bought mine under 50 feet away from the NYPD. I'm pretty lucky!
One last thing about chinatown, its not as nice as you think. Its actually the trashiest area of New York I saw. It was trashier then Queens. Theres grafitti everywhere, all the buildings are old and dosen't resemble china at all. The restraunts made it seem like you would get food poisning. The classiest one was actually the mcdonalds which said mcdonalds in chineese lettering. So anyways now you know more about that.
New York is a place everyone needs to go at least once in their lifetime because it is unlike anything in the whole world. The people are so alive and just living on a whole diffrent planet then the rest of us. Its the only place they sell condoms with obamas face on them on every street corner. The only place where you walk into a Mcdonalds that looks super classy. Flowers and napkins on the table. 3 stories, with a grand piano. In New York Mcdonalds is olive garden. The city never sleeps. YOu'll be out at 12 am and the streets are crowded as if its morning. Stores are open twenty four hours and no one is ever board. New York is the place to be. I love it and I think its my favorite city in teh world.
song of the day: Dynamite - Taio Cruz (I got a lot of new songs yesturday so the songs of the days will be pretty amazing for the next couple weeks!)
quotes of the day:
A person who speaks good English in New York sounds like a foreigner.
- Jackie Mason
They say life's what happens when you're busy making other plans. But sometimes in New York, life is what happens when you're waiting for a table.” -Sarah Jessica Parker
“Traffic signals in New York are just rough guidelines.” - David Letterman (It is so true!! No one follows the walk and stop signals. Everyone just kind of goes. Cars will skid an inch away from you and buses will manage to park in compact car spots. Its crazy!)
“I miss New York. I still love how people talk to you on the street - just assault you and tell you what they think of your jacket.” - Madonna
"Every person on the streets of New York is a type. The city is one big theater where everyone is on display.”
