Top Television Shows & Moments of 2012 : "A Dolla Make You Holla Honey Boo Boo Child"

Top Ten Television Shows and Moments of 2012

1. "Blair Cornelia Waldorf, Will you Marry Me" - Chuck Bass. This sounds like a simple moment, because plenty of people get married in all kinds of big ways all around the world. I've been waiting five seasons to hear those words though. Chuck and Blair were that couple in Gossip Girl that everyone wanted to see end up happily ever after and the season finally gave them that. Their song Henry Bass couldn't be cuter either. And we finally figured out who Gossip Girl was...or should I say Gossip Guy. It was Dan Humphrey, the apparently self proclaimed "lonely boy". I was glad to see everyone ending up where they belong. I'm going to miss my favorite television show.

2. The season finally of one of the longest running series on television : One Tree Hill (CW) . I have been super obsessed with this series for the last couple of years. It's about dreaming big, falling in love, heart ache, marriage, and crazies. I was very sad to see it end, but happy to see Jamie grow up to be the new Nathan. Everyone got their happy ending with a spouse and babies. At the end of the day that's all most people are looking for right?

3. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo : I didn't watch very many episodes of Toddlers in Tiaras, so I had no idea what to expect when I turned on Honey Boo Boo and her families reality show. If you haven't watched you better "redneckonize" what you're missing out on. "A dolla make you holla honey boo boo child". Their little sayings and nicknames for each other really make the show. They are a very real American family. Ok, maybe a little more country then mos tare, but it's funny to see real people for once. You couldn't pretend to be that way for all the money in the world. It's really reality. Everything from their pet pig no chickadee trying to gain weight instead of lose it made it one of the most memorable shows of the year.

4. Catfish (MTV) : I watched the movie when it came out on DVD forever ago. It was heartbreaking and eye opening, but the show is simply hilarious. Nev, was a guy who fell in love over the internet only to figure out the women wasn't anywhere close to what she said she was. So now, he's helping people figure out their online loves. The funniest episode was Jasmine and Mike. I don't want to give anything away but Mhissy is a must thing. Check it out next time it's on.

This year I was obsessed with these African American couple reality shows. They were very real and living the dream. Pretty girls dating these successful black men who just have a whole lot of love for each other. It's too bad drama and the price of success always gets in the way. But some of the couples get through it all and stick together. They have each others back. It's too cute for words.

5. Chrissy and Mr. Jones : They had their first season this year, and it was fantastic to watch. Their both pretty laid back personalities, but they put everything they have in their relationship. Mr. Jones made the show for me. He's this big, bad rapper but at the end of the day he just wants to have babies and marry the woman of his dreams. He had some elaborate romantic moves, and him chasing her around that factory after agreeing to make her a partner was enough to make anyone smile.

6. Marrying The Game : Can we start with the fact that the game has a real name? I totally didn't know. It's Jayceon. I think it's really cute, but I can't name my little boy that because I doubt whoever i'm married too will want to name their kid after the game. Enough me dilemmas, lets go back to the games eyes..I mean his television show. This was supposed to be documenting his marriage to Tiffany the mother of his two children. Tiffany was different. She was a school teacher and had expectations for her husband (she's also much older then him). Anyways it was a really cute relationship, but "the game" got in the way. I hope they find their way back to each other, and Jayceon at least gets refunded for some of that wedding stuff.

7. Tamar and Vince : I discovered this one towards the end of the year. My aunt told me the Braxtons had a lot of good shows, but I didn't pay them much attention. I turned it on to find the hilarious life of Mr. & Mrs. Vincent Herbert. He's the big time executive, and she's the new money wife who really wants to be a star. It's lots of "honey, make me a star" temper tantrums. It's funny to see how he reacts to his crazy, but fabulous wife. She's a lot of fun to watch and I love the "Get Yo Life" that she throws out all the time.

8. T.I. & Tiny : The Family Hustle : T.I. is most well known for being the artists that brought all those guns to an award show then got locked up at least 3 times in the last few years. Tiny is the woman that has been by his side through it all. The show paints T.I. as a nice family man and chronicles the family love of the life of him & his wife and their combined six children. It's a fun life and Sheikanah (her hair dresser/best friend) makes everything they do that much funnier.

9. The Secret Life of The American Teenager : This show has an upcoming final season, but it has come a long way in general. I watched from the very beginning, and it's fun to see their teen family grow and prosper. It was nice to see Ricky finally find his way to Amy and them get kind of married kind of not. It shows that positivity can come from the most negative of situations. Honestly, the season ended too long ago for me to point out any significant details.

10. Houston's : On Our Own : This shows Bobbi Kristina and her family trying to figure out life after Nippy (more popularly known as the late, great Whitney Houston). Bobbi has had a pretty sheltered life despite all her moms appearances in the press. There were laughs, successes, disappointments and plain weird moments. It was sad to see Bobbi under the influence of a lot of things. You can't blame her though, because her parents didn't exactly pave the way. Then there's the whole weird relationship between her and Nick to tackle. They were brother and sister, then boyfriend girlfriend, then engaged, then back to brother and sister again. I know it's difficult to keep that straight and even more difficult to relate to. Anyways the show was a huge success in my book. Best thing to come out of lifetime.
