Today was a fairytale : Prom 2012 continued

The story of the wonderful day that is prom begins on the last post. This is part 2. After we went to the Japanese restaurant we proceeded onto the plaza in Kansas City. There were lots of prom groups taking pictures by the big beautiful fountain there. Imagine the surprised looks on their faces when some of my friends jumped into the fountain, prom dresses and all. I'm the non-spontaneous type that thinks about the price of the dress and how I plan on wearing it again sometime so I didn't go in. But I did get some great pictures :
On the way back from our little Kansas City adventure one of the girl son the bus got sick. We had to pull over at a gas station so she could pull herself together. I was concerned that we were going to have to pay overtime for the bus, but the driver was really understanding about the whole situation. We took the party bus all the way over to the Ballroom in the Union at the University of Kansas. The inside of prom was decorated beautifully. They had lots of balloons and a little arch that people can walk under and feel special. There was a stage and all the really "look at me or i'll die" people were dancing on the stage. The music was okay, but they didn't play any songs I liked that much. Everyone was there, but it wasn't the super bonded experience you see on television where everyone finally comes together. People pretty much stuck to their friends which was fun. They named Prom King and Prom Queen and they shared a romantic dance. I was really glad about the winner of Prom King, because no one is more deserving then him. They were both just the sweetest people. Prom died fast. About halfway through people started leaving so they can go home and change for the after party. The after party was held at this Italian restaurant in town. My friends and I stopped by, but one girl was having a wardrobe malfunction and there was just a little too much drama for it to really be a good time. People were completely wasted dancing on tables and stuff. I always imagined myself rolling in at 6 am after prom. Definitely got home at 2. The crazy drunk party girl thing just isn't my scene. I think it's incredibly stupid to risk your entire future by participating in illegal stuff. And for what? Three hours of "fun" that you won't even remember the next day. Anyways I went home and sat and day dreamed about how magical the whole thing was. My favorite part was the before stuff though. When we were all dancing on the bus. Dancing on a bus going 70 mph on the highway is an experience everyone should have. It's such a thrill. All the Kansas City moments were great fun as well. I'll never forget my senior prom. Song of the day: Rack City by Tyga was played at my prom at least three times (that's going to be humiliating a few years from now I already know it) quote of the day: "We're fools weather we dance or not, so we might as well dance"
