Dear readers,
This last month has been quite an interesting ride. So many senior events have taken place, and two AP tests have been taken. The biggest event of all was...you guessed it...Prom! I feel like the average american girl hears all about prom the minute they learn how to use a remote. It's everywhere. The special seventeen magazine issues, the movies, the television shows. I can't tell you how many characters i've watched or read about going to prom. Finally it was my moment to experience the magic. It was an unforgettable night. It started with senior skip day (which wasn't really skip day, because we were all excused by the school board) on friday May 4th. I woke up and gave myself a wonderful facial. Then I went to B Studio & Design to get my nails done. I got my first pedicure ever, and my feet never looked so good. I got so many different kind of massages, and layers of paint. I painted my nails purple to match with my dress. The manicure part was paid for by my girl scout troop. It was fun to get pampered with all of them. Here's a little glimpse:
After all the beautifying I went geo-hunting with Akira. I'm technically not supposed to tell anyone else what geo-hunting is, because it's a secret you discover for yourself, but I trust you all. Random people in communities all over the world hide little "treasures" in random places and give you hints on where to find them based on your location. They're everywhere! We went looking for three and failed to discover two of them. The one that we found was filled with all kinds of junk. Old cds, toys, etc. We didn't take anything, because it felt wrong. I was just impressed that the whole thing was real, and we weren't just looking for nothing.
The next morning I woke up very early to go get my hair done at Fantasy Hair Salon. I was going for the Demi Lovato loose curls, and it turned out exactly how I hoped it would. After getting my hair done, I met my friend at the location where she planned to park her car for the event then gave her a ride back to our neighborhood. My aunt who was a Mary Kay lady came to do my makeup. I got dressed and turned out like this... :
Very soon after I got ready, I hoped in my moms car and headed to Potters Lake where my entire prom group was meeting to take pre-prom pictures. There was a total of 21 of of us. All girls and three boys (none of whom were in our grade. One was in college and two were juniors). I didn't have a date. I was feeling kind of sad about it before, but I wasn't going to dwell on something that wasn't meant to be. After tons and tons of pictures taken by parents by the lake, our party bus arrived. The bus was really cool, but I was slightly disappointed when the driver said he forgot his wire to connect our playlist to. He had good taste though. The bus took us all the way to Kansas City to get dinner from a restaurant called Gojos. It was a cool Japanese Steak House where they cooked the food right in front of us and played awesome tricks with fire:
